Famous places to visit in Morocco

Agadir

The city of Agadir is a popular tourist destination in Morocco. It's known for its beaches and nightlife, but it also has a long history of being an important trading port. There are several museums in town that you can visit, including the Museum of Antiquities and the Museum Hassan II des Arts Decoratifs (a museum dedicated to Moroccan art).

The souks here offer everything from spices to fish to rugs--and everything in between! You'll want to spend some time exploring these markets when you're in town so that you can find your favorite souvenirs or gifts for friends back home.

Casablanca

Casablanca is a city in Morocco and the largest city in the country. It has a population of 3.5 million people, making it one of the biggest cities in Africa. Casablanca is also a popular tourist destination for visitors from Europe and Africa, who come for its busy port, beaches and shopping malls. The city is home to many important buildings, such as Hassan II Mosque and the Old Medina. It was founded in 1496 by Berber fishermen who settled on an offshore island called Anfa.

Chefchaouen

Chefchaouen is a beautiful town in the Rif Mountains, famous for its blue houses and white walls. It's a popular destination for tourists, who come to experience this unique blend of Moroccan culture and Andalusian architecture. If you're looking for an off-the-beaten path travel destination within Morocco, Chefchaouen should be at the top of your list!

Essaouira

Essaouira is a small town on the Atlantic coast of Morocco, known for its windy streets and white-washed houses. The town has a long history as a major trading port, but it's also an attractive place to visit today thanks to its beautiful beach and nearby sights like Mogador Castle. Essaouira means "safe harbor" in Arabic; during medieval times, this was one of Morocco's main ports for trade with Europe (alongside Casablanca). Today you'll find Essaouira's old port still in operation--but many locals now prefer to spend their time at Port Boujdour or Agadir instead!

Fes

Fes is the second largest city in Morocco, and it's also known as "the heart of Morocco's Islamic history and culture." The city has a large medina (old town) that you can explore on foot or by horse-drawn calèche. The Fès-Meknès region includes four provinces: Fes, Meknès, Safi and Taza. The capital of this region is Meknes; however its history goes back to Roman times when it was called Volubilis which means "turning wheel." 

Imlil

Imlil is a small village in the High Atlas Mountains of Morocco. It's known for its beautiful scenery and hiking, which makes it a popular destination for tourists. The village is also home to the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Atlas, which was built by King Moulay Ismail in 1690.

Lalla Takerkoust

Lalla Takerkoust is a small village in the High Atlas Mountains, about 35km from Marrakech. It's known for its scenic views and hiking trails. You can visit the nearby villages of Ait Ben Haddou or Atsouda to see how local people live. There are some great views of the mountains and valleys from this area, so it's perfect for hiking or trekking with friends or family members who enjoy nature walks; Lalla Takerkoust also has plenty of restaurants and cafes where you can stop for lunch before heading back home again!

Marrakech

Marrakech is a beautiful city, famous for its souks and palaces. The medina is large and has many markets, restaurants and shops.

Taghazout is a small town on the Atlantic coast of Morocco. It's a popular destination for surfing and kite surfing, with several surf schools in the area. The beach is known for its great waves and warm waters, making it an excellent place to relax after spending your day in the ocean. The town itself has many restaurants and shops where you can buy souvenirs or grab something to eat before heading back home after your visit!

Tamraght

Tamraght is a city in the Souss-Massa-Drâa region of Morocco. It has an airport and railway station, as well as many popular tourist destinations in the area.

The Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, which was built in the 13th century as an outpost for controlling traffic along trade routes between the Sahara desert and Marrakesh city. Today, this kasbah serves as one of the most popular filming locations for Hollywood movies such as Lawrence Of Arabia (1962), Gladiator (2000), Babel(2006)and Game Of Thrones(2011- present). There are also many other things to do here such as hiking around its walls or exploring inside its buildings while visiting this site!
